MotoGP Grand Prix Of India 2023: UP Govt Gets ₹8 Crore For The Bharat Race Event

The thrill of MotoGP is set to return to India in 2023 with the eagerly awaited “MotoGP Bharat,” and the Uttar Pradesh government has shown its commitment by allocating ₹8 crore to ensure the success of this prestigious event. Scheduled to take place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida from September 22 to 24, MotoGP Bharat promises to be a spectacular showcase of international motorcycle racing.

A Financial Boost for MotoGP Bharat

In a significant move to support the event, the Uttar Pradesh government has earmarked ₹8 crore to make necessary modifications to the circuit and improve infrastructure at the venue. This financial allocation demonstrates the state’s commitment to hosting world-class sporting events and promoting motorsport in the region.

Preparations in Full Swing

Prior to this financial boost, authorities in Noida, Greater Noida, and Yeida had already allocated ₹10 crore for track modifications at the Buddh International Circuit. These changes are essential to adapting the circuit, originally designed for Formula One races, to the unique demands of MotoGP.

The allocated funds will primarily focus on enhancing the track and repairing offices and buildings at the venue, ensuring that it meets the stringent safety and performance standards of MotoGP. The circuit has already been handed over to Dorna, the company that owns the commercial rights to the MotoGP, and the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the international governing body for motorcycle racing, is conducting an audit to certify its readiness for the thrilling races ahead.

A Global Spectacle

MotoGP Bharat is not just a national event; it’s a global spectacle. It is expected to attract riders and visitors from at least 22 countries, making it a diverse and exciting gathering of motorcycle racing enthusiasts. Around 6,000 foreigners, including 3,000 MotoGP crew members and bikers, are expected to descend on Greater Noida for this event, along with an additional 2,000 international spectators.

A Grand Vision for Motorsport

The allocation of ₹8 crore by the Uttar Pradesh government is more than just a financial contribution; it represents a vision for the future of motorsport in India. While signifies the government’s dedication to hosting international sporting events and positioning India as a prominent destination on the global motorsport map.

While preparations continue at the Buddh International Circuit, the racing world eagerly anticipates the return of MotoGP to India. With a significant financial boost and a commitment to providing the best possible racing experience, MotoGP Bharat 2023 promises to be an event that will be remembered for years to come. Motorcycle racing enthusiasts can mark their calendars for September 22–24, when the engines roar to life and the thrill of MotoGP takes center stage in the heart of India.
