Jorge Lorenzo identifies three main areas of concern for Marc Marquez at Ducati as ge analyzed his former teammate.

Marc Marquez’s former team-mate Jorge Lorenzo has highlighted three key aspects in 2019 that could affect the eight-time world champion’s performance in his first MotoGP season with Ducati.

Lorenzo, who had success with Ducati before his time at Honda, highlighted three factors that could be crucial to Marquez’s success at the new team.

1. Adapting to Ducati: The former rider expressed uncertainty about how much time Marquez will need to fully adapt to Ducati. He noted that after an impressive test in Valencia, Marquez was expected to dominate every race, but hinted that the adaptation process was still ongoing. Lorenzo noted that Marquez appears to be riding with both Ducati and Honda, suggesting that his riding style may change.

2. Differences between 2023 and 2024 Ducatis:  Another concern for Lorenzo is the difference between the 2023 and 2024 Ducati bikes. He highlights the continued development of MotoGP machines and questions whether Ducati made significant improvements to their bikes last year. This is particularly important due to the ability of riders such as Jorge Martin and Peco Bagnia who already have Ducati experience.

3. Marquez’s physical condition: Marc Marquez’s physical condition is another unknown for Lorenzo. This raises the question of whether Marquez’s injured right hand will fully recover in 2020. The former hero wonders if Marquez has reached the peak of his recovery or if there is more to come. This concern for physical condition is extremely important because it can directly affect a driver’s performance during the season.

Despite positive tests and early expectations of dominance, Lorenzo concluded that the true extent of Marquez’s Ducati success will be revealed in the 2024 MotoGP season. The uncertainty surrounding these three main points adds excitement and anticipation to an exciting season in motorcycling’s top division.
