Former Mercedes Boss Mick Schumacher Exposes Mick Schumacher’s Garage Ban

9 months ago By Sports Desk

In an unexpected moment at the British Grand Prix, Mick Schumacher made a surprising revelation about his relationship with Haas team boss Guenther Steiner. Ahead of the last race of the 2022 season, the young pilot sent by Haas made a statement praising Toto Wolff, the president of Mercedes, but also hinting that Steiner had excluded him from the team garage.

In a trackside interview at Silverstone, Schumacher stated that Wolff was the “best” team boss he had ever worked for, drawing stunned reactions from spectators. When asked to explain his backstage interactions with Wolff, the 24-year-old responded:

“Yes, Toto is great, he’s a great team boss. He might be the best boss I’ve ever worked for.” However, Schumacher, realizing the possible meaning of his words, tried to rectify the situation:

“I didn’t mean it that way. No, he’s a great person.”

The German pilot was sent by Haas at the end of the 2022 season and had limited time to find a new seat. Toto Wolff took him on as a reserve driver and claimed that Steiner mistreated the young pilot.

The Mercedes chief explained: “If Michael had taken his son Mick with him for two Haas years, I bet Steiner would not have had the courage to treat Mick like this!” Ahead of the new season, Schumacher’s uncle Ralf also appeared to attack Steiner over his nephew’s sacking.

The former Williams driver said Mick would have had a “fair chance” if Michael Schumacher had been there. However, Steiner rejected claims that Schumacher did not have an opportunity at Haas.
