Ducati CEO Sidesteps Marquez-Bagnaia Controversy

7 months ago By Sports Desk

Ducati, one of the most iconic MotoGP teams, found itself in the spotlight after the recent incident between its riders, Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, during the Grand Prix of Portugal. As the racing world grappled with the repercussions of the incident, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali opted for a diplomatic approach to dealing with the controversy.

The incident in question occurred when Marquez and Bagnaia were involved in a collision during the race, which resulted in a collision of the two drivers. Although Racing Management considered the incident a mere racing accident, Marquez attributed the blame to Bagnaia, claiming that his colleague’s maneuver was within the limits of legality. This situation raised questions about the dynamics within the Ducati team, especially with the arrival of Marquez as a new rider.

When asked about his position on the incident and Marquez’s arrival in the team, Domenicali took a cautious approach. He acknowledged the competitiveness between the riders and the quality of the MotoGP grid, and avoided being drawn into controversy. Instead, he emphasized the quality of the Ducati riders, emphasizing that they are all potential champions and are focused on achieving success.

Domenicali also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the official Ducati riders, who achieved first and second place in the race. He recognized the competitiveness between Bagnaia and Marquez, and emphasized that both are great champions and were ready to take risks in search of better results. However, he avoided going into detail about the controversy itself, choosing to remain focused on the overall performance of the team.

Regarding Ducati’s decision regarding its riders, Domenicali emphasized the team’s continued investment in promising talent and confidence in the ability of its riders to challenge for the MotoGP title. He considered building a strong team a privilege, and emphasized Ducati’s commitment to the success and development of its riders.

Ultimately, Domenicali’s thoughtful response reflects Ducati’s approach to challenges and controversies within the team. As the MotoGP season continues, the Italian team will look to maximize the potential of its rider line-up and remain focused on its competition goals, while the world of racing continues speculate on how this intriguing rivalry between Marquez and Bagnaia will play out.
