Brad Pitt-Starring F1 Film Produced by Lewis Hamilton Set for 2025 Release

A film inspired by Formula 1, starring renowned actor Brad Pitt and co-produced by multi-champion Lewis Hamilton, is scheduled for release on June 25, 2025. The film, which does not yet have a confirmed title, is produced by Apple Original Films in collaboration with Formula 1. The production is being carried out by the director-producer duo Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer, known for works such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”.The announcement of the film’s release was made by the parties involved, despite delays caused by the actors’ and screenwriters’ strikes in the United States. Apple Original Films and Formula 1 have released a joint statement confirming that the film will be available in North America starting June 27, 2025.

Movie Details

The film, which aims to capture the emotion and drama of the world of Formula 1, will be filmed in real time during Grand Prix around the world. The production will include the Formula 1 community, including the 10 teams, drivers, the FIA, and event promoters. Filming will begin in 2023 and will continue through this summer’s British Grand Prix and several other races, concluding at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.Brad Pitt, 60, will play the role of Sonny Hayes, a veteran race car driver. 32-year-old actor Damson Idris will play his teammate Joshua Pearce. The film will also star Oscar winner Javier Bardem and best supporting actress nominee Kerry Condon.

Lewis Hamilton commented on Brad Pitt’s interest and dedication in producing the film, stating that “for someone who hasn’t raced, he definitely has a sharp eye. He loves watching MotoGP, so he has always been a racing enthusiast.
