Pedro Acosta Downplays Expectations Ahead of COTA

7 months ago By Sports Desk

Pedro Acosta, the young Spanish MotoGP prodigy, remains humble and realistic about his expectations as he prepares for the American Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. After achieving his first podium in the premier class at the recent Portimao GP, Acosta remains focused on experience and learning rather than numerical goals.

In his pre-race remarks at COTA, Acosta reiterated his stance and emphasized the importance of remaining realistic. “We have no expectations,” said the GASGAS Tech3 driver. “Ultimately, it’s easy to say. But we’re not at the time to think like that. We have to be realistic and accept that we can’t predict any concrete results after just two races.”

Acosta’s approach runs counter to the common tendency of many pilots to set quantifiable goals and specific tasks. Instead, the young Spaniard prefers to focus on the present and enjoy his journey in the premier class of motorcycling. “We’re not here to think about that,” Acosta added. We will try to seize the moment and take advantage of the opportunity to ride a MotoGP bike here at COTA.

Acosta’s outlook is bolstered by his recent successes. Coming from Moto3 where he won the championship in his debut season, Acosta is quickly making a name for himself in MotoGP. His victory in last year’s Moto2 race at COTA proves his ability and adaptability in different categories.

However, despite its obvious potential, Acosta remains cautious about expectations. He understands the unpredictable nature of MotoGP racing and the importance of paying attention to each session.

If Acosta takes the podium at COTA, he will not only cement his position as one of MotoGP’s best emerging talents, but also set a new record as the youngest rider to achieve back-to-back podiums in the premier class, surpassing the established mark. by Marquez in Austin in 2013.

At just 19, Acosta is at the start of a promising MotoGP career. His humble and focused approach to learning suggests that he is ready to tackle the challenges that come his way. While the eyes of the world are on COTA this weekend, Pedro Acosta is determined to make his mark and continue to surprise on the race track.
